Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in time-out procedures, label all solutions and medications, perform counts per policy, and follow safe handling protocols for specimens, implants, and explants
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical technologist role including instrumentation, equipment, suture selection, and efficient procedure set-up; be scrubbed and in room before patient arrives
• Maintain and protect the sterile field throughout procedures, upholding strict aseptic technique at all times
• Practice safe working habits including proper use of PPE, blade holders, neutral zone, and sharps containers; communicate effectively with all OR team members
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning and stocking of rooms, and returning rooms to a ready state at the end of each case
• Support instrument and equipment care by using appropriate fluids and enzyme cleaners, and report any broken or unusable items to the nurse leader

Required Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in Surgical Technology
• Completion of a vocational or military surgical technologist training course
• Up to one (1) year of experience as a Scrub Tech or equivalent training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability including willingness to take on ancillary duties as needed
