Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (4x12) | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted | 13–20 week contracts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6, caring for patients with diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, encephalopathy, anemia, hip fracture, and COVID-19
• Perform telemetry monitoring including remote monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response Team protocols
• Manage and maintain central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws
• Administer blood products, IV insulin protocols, heparin, and PCA; manage chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and other non-invasive airway support
• Provide wound care, wound vac management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Adhere to isolation precautions, float to other units as required, and be available to serve on Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Proficiency with telemetry remote monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Availability for full hospital orientation during week one, including required daily classes; scrubs in navy/white required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, port access, surgical drains, tracheostomy management, and interpretation of ABGs
• Background in CVA patient care and insulin management
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records documentation
• Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing and SBAR communication framework
