Contract | 26 Weeks | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (days may vary based on unit need) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care as a circulator on the thoracic/vascular OR team in a large, Level 1 trauma center with 56 OR beds (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms
- Perform both circulating and scrub roles; proficiency in endovascular cases is required
- Support a broad range of case types including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms, ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
- Care for adult patient populations across transplant and trauma/neuro diagnoses; pediatric OR is a separate unit
- Take late stays as needed based on unit demand (approximately four late stays expected per 13-week period); late stays rarely exceed one hour past normal shift end
- Expected to work 2 of 3 holidays during the contract; time off requests will be limited
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of OR experience required
- Thoracic/vascular OR experience required
- Scrub experience required; must be proficient in endovascular cases in both circulator and scrub roles
- Current OR-related certification required and must be on file at time of submission
- Prior travel nursing experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume OR environments such as Level 1 trauma centers
- Familiarity with transplant, robotic, and hybrid room cases
- Ability to adapt to a flexible, non-block schedule based on unit needs
