Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Job Title
• Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

• Devils Lake, ND

Schedule / Job Type
• Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week, 13-week assignment, on-site

Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily rounds on all patients, ensuring quality care and addressing any unmet needs.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessments, considering patients' physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
• Assess patient conditions, set goals, and implement appropriate nursing interventions, including discharge planning.
• Promptly evaluate and manage patient-reported pain, taking appropriate action in accordance with standard procedures.
• Recognize early signs of patient deterioration and respond appropriately, including alerting clinicians and initiating emergency measures if necessary.
• Communicate pertinent observations to healthcare team members and accurately document all patient interactions and interventions.
• Begin discharge planning early, providing education and counseling to patients and families to facilitate safe transition.
• Delegate and assign nursing interventions within scope of practice to qualified team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs.

Required Qualifications
• Valid Registered Nurse license through the North Dakota Board of Nursing or an active Compact State license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
• S.T.A.B.L.E. certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience in labor and delivery nursing preferred.
• Strong patient assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
