Key Responsibilities
- Plan treatment techniques that deliver prescribed dosages of radiation to patients.
- Obtain and/or supervise obtaining patient data including contours, localization files, CT scans, and port films.
- Coordinate simulations with tumor localization procedures and enter dosage calculations into patients' radiation therapy charts.
- Supervise radiation therapists in the implementation of treatment plans and assist in planning and building beam modifying devices.
- Perform radiation room surveys for patients undergoing intracavity or interstitial procedures and assist with brachytherapy procedures.
- Provide technical assistance to the Radiation Physicist and assist with maintaining radioactive sources.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years of dosimetry experience under the supervision of a dosimetrist, medical physicist, or radiation oncologist, or equivalent credentialing.
- Credentialed as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the American Association of Medical Dosimetry (AAMD).
- Proficiency with Eclipse Treatment Planning, Mosaiq Record & Verify, Radformation, RadCalc, and Mobius systems preferred.
- Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO prior to start date.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with brachytherapy procedures including intracavity and interstitial techniques.
- Familiarity with radiation room survey protocols and radioactive source management.
- Experience collaborating with radiation oncology and medical physics teams in a clinical setting.
