Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint in accordance with RN scope of practice.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in coordination with the patient, family, and inter-professional team, adjusting interventions based on ongoing assessment and changes in patient condition.
• Provide direct patient care activities including nursing rounds, treatments, and procedures, while facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge processes in a timely manner.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to team members and monitor the accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care activities.
• Deliver patient and family-centered education addressing prioritized problems according to the patient's level of comprehension, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction initiatives, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) or higher.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform age-specific patient safety assessments and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across care team disciplines.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous clinical nursing experience in a progressive care, stepdown, or similar acute care setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
