Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with a 101-bed unit and patient ratios of typically 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation throughout each patient encounter, maintaining boards updated with current patient information
- Collaborate with techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, and unit clerks across all sections of the ED; must be open to floating within all ED sections
- Deliver patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior, and consistent patient communication throughout each visit
- Operate unit equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Demonstrate real-time coaching ability, teamwork mentality, and flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
- ACLS required prior to start date
- BLS required prior to start date
- PALS required prior to start date
- TNCC required prior to start date
- CPI required prior to start date
- NIHSS required prior to start date
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Navy scrubs required as dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center setting
- Background in a high-volume Emergency Department exceeding 100,000 annual visits
- Previous experience within an HCA-affiliated facility
