Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult surgical patients on a 12-bed Surgical Short Stay unit, primarily post-PACU admissions with stays under 24 hours, as well as pre-op patients and inpatient surgical admissions as needed
• Manage patients across multiple surgical service lines including colorectal, endoscopic, general, gynecologic, maxillofacial, neurologic, orthopedic, plastic, urologic, and vascular
• Operate specialized equipment including CBI, Doppler ultrasound, BD Alaris Infusion System (Large Volume Pump and PCA Module), JP drains, Medela Wound Vac, and Prevena Wound Vac systems
• Float as needed to inpatient surgery floors, inpatient holding areas, or medical floors
• Work every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night shifts as assigned
• Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Surgical short stay experience required
• Must be able to work holidays; expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays during the contract
• Candidates located within 50 miles of the facility are eligible; a lower rate applies for local candidates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred
