Contract | 13 Weeks | Mids Shift (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Projected Start: 09/28/2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information throughout each visit
- Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with unit protocols
- Adhere to patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior practices, and regular patient communication and board updates
- Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed; no floating outside of the ED
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including techs in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and unit clerks
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
- ACLS required before start date
- BLS required before start date
- PALS required before start date
- TNCC required before start date
- CPI required before start date
- NIHSS required before start date
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work every other weekend; scheduling must meet departmental needs — block scheduling not available
- Navy scrubs required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center and/or comprehensive stroke center
- Background in a high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ annual visits)
- Previous experience with HCA facilities
- Demonstrated ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback in a fast-paced environment
