Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving a diverse patient population including GI, blood loss and anemia, infections, renal, post-surgical, and cardiac monitoring patients
• Maintain safe and effective patient ratios, with a target of 1:6; flexibility required for occasional 1:7 ratios based on staffing needs
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients in designated telemetry beds
• Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for documentation and communication
• Float to other medical surgical units or floors as needed
• Work every other weekend as required by unit scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience
• Minimum of 2 successfully completed travel assignments (first-time travelers will not be considered)
• Proficiency in IV insertion
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication frameworks
