Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on thorough patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources
- Apply prioritization and critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Comply with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines using evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs
- Assess and address learning needs of patients and/or families, providing education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance
- Delegate patient care to ancillary personnel appropriately; may precept student nurses and new hires
Required Qualifications
- Current and active Colorado RN license or Compact RN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
- Current PALS or ENPC certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire)
- Current TNCC, STABLE, and NRP certifications (or ability to obtain each within 1 year of hire)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of hospital nursing experience
- One or more years of Emergency Department or Critical Care nursing experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
