Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
- Perform patient assessments and institute individualized respiratory care plans across all hospital areas
- Manage airway support including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP devices, ventilator setup and operation, and airway retaining device placement
- Conduct diagnostic procedures including blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, and chest film analysis; deliver aerosolized drugs and manage oxygen delivery devices
- Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue and Code White events
- May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader; advanced practice duties may include pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, and transport duties
Required Qualifications
- Active RT or RCP License in the state of Texas required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC required
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- PALS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- NRP certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1–3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Experience with advanced therapeutic gas management including INO and HeO2
- Familiarity with polysomnography, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, and waveform analysis
