Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Rotating Shifts (7:00–17:30 and 9:30–20:00); shifts are grouped for consistency week to week. On-call required: one weekday call shift per week and one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month. Call requirements may vary based on staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology (EP) setting at a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Assist with cardiac catheterization and EP procedures, remaining on shift until all procedures are complete
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic health records
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule including weekday and weekend call shifts
- Wear a radiation badge at all times during procedures; badge must be supplied by the staffing agency prior to start
- Be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab and/or EP nursing experience required
- Active South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start date
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Radiation badge required — must be provided by the staffing agency; the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic electronic health records charting system
- Familiarity with rotating shift structures in a procedural or interventional environment
- Ability to adapt to changing call requirements based on unit staffing needs
