Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
• Deliver all treatment in accordance with an established plan of care, as delegated and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist
• Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapy-related activities
• Monitor and document patient response to treatment interventions
• Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
• Valid state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in North Carolina
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
• Ability to follow clinical instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience or clinical exposure in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills when working with patients, families, and care teams
• Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with a diverse patient population
• Physical stamina to assist patients with movement, transfers, and therapeutic exercises
