Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every Other Weekend | One holiday and one evening shift expected during the holiday period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an orthopedic unit specializing in pre-operative and post-operative care for elective and trauma patients
• Care for patients undergoing Total Hip, Knee, and Shoulder Replacements and Repairs, as well as Orthopedic Trauma cases
• Utilize safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic-specific equipment including CPM machines, Knee Immobilizers, and Bone Foam
• Participate in Rapid Response Team activations as needed
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 (with possible stretch to 1:7)
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR</strong>; all RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Orthopedic and trauma nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; current driver's license required to verify address

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with Rapid Response Teams
• Familiarity with safe patient handling protocols and orthopedic-specific equipment
