Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Labor & Delivery unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3
- Manage and monitor patients experiencing labor, induction of labor, Cesarean section delivery, External Cephalic Version, fetal demise, and intrauterine fetal death
- Administer and titrate medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin Drips; assist with epidural management
- Document patient care using Cerner (transitioning to Epic)
- Float to related areas as needed, including Antenatal, High Risk, OB Triage, and Postpartum units
- Fulfill every-other-weekend and holiday requirements as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Active Delaware RN license or Compact RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery specialty — no exceptions
- All certifications must be submitted with expiration dates at time of initial submission
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
- Holiday and every-other-weekend availability required
- No overtime or incidental overtime authorized for contract staff
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients and antenatal care
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR; Epic experience a plus given upcoming system transition
- Experience with OB Triage and Postpartum care settings
