Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
- Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information on unit boards throughout each visit
- Operate unit equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with department protocols
- Deliver patient experience standards including AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and consistent patient updates throughout the visit
- Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed to meet departmental staffing needs
- Collaborate with techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks across day and night shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency room setting
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits)
- Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback; flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a high-volume emergency department exceeding 100,000 annual visits
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
- Experience working in a culturally diverse patient population and multilingual community
