Contract (13 weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (12-hour nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct inpatient nursing care on a 41-bed telemetry-capable unit with a focus on renal and limb preservation patients
- Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry for assigned patient population
- Care for patients with diagnoses including ESRD, acute renal failure, CHF, vascular procedures, diabetes, and diabetic foot ulcers
- Support peritoneal dialysis treatments on the unit in coordination with the dialysis team
- Collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, RN navigators, nursing assistants, pharmacy, dietary, and PT/OT
- Float to other units or areas within the facility as needed per unit requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
- Demonstrated skills in telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of dysrhythmias
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
- Willingness to float within and near the facility per unit needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Experience with renal or vascular patient populations
