Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Weekend requirement: Friday night and Saturday night | Holiday coverage required (minor and major holidays as assigned within contract period)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit with a focus on neuro telemetry, including patients with CVA/TIA, subdurals, and seizure disorders
- Deliver post-operative recovery care for surgical oncology patients following procedures such as Whipple surgeries, esophagectomies, and colon resections (no chemotherapy administration required)
- Care for vascular surgery patients post-peripheral angiogram, including patients with PAD with wounds and status-post amputations
- Float to Medical/Surgical unit as needed
- Adhere to all unit protocols, documentation standards, and patient safety requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Medical/Surgical or related specialty
- Travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Specialized experience in neuro telemetry nursing
- Background in surgical oncology or vascular surgery post-operative care
- Experience working in a high-acuity Medical/Surgical environment
