Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting within a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, identify and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response team activations
• Manage complex IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, port access, blood product administration, and heparin and vasoactive drip titration
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and renal conditions including ventilated patients, tracheostomy management, and chest tube care
• Perform and document clinical care using Cerner electronic health record system
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as needed to meet patient care demands

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response skills
• Proficiency in required clinical skills including IV therapy, respiratory management, neurological and cardiovascular patient care, wound care, and isolation precautions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
• Teaching hospital and/or Level I Trauma center experience preferred
