Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Neuro)

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (12-Hour Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a primary focus on stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, and other neurological diagnoses including subdural hematomas
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry
• Perform IV starts and administer medications in accordance with unit protocols
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication standards
• Float as required to other Medical Surgical / Telemetry areas, which may include COVID care units
• Work every other weekend and make up any missed weekend shifts per unit scheduling policy

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience
• Must have completed at least 2 prior successful travel contracts (first-time travelers will not be accepted)
• Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Medical Surgical Neuro experience required
• Active BCLS certification required
• NIH and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Active NC or Compact RN license (pending license acceptable for submission)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Prior experience working in a neuro-focused or stroke care setting
