Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed acute care unit utilizing a Team-Based Care model, collaborating daily with MDs, case management, pharmacy, and PT/OT to address patient care, treatment, and discharge needs
• Manage patients across varying acuity levels including Med-Surg and ICU/Stepdown, with patient ratios of 2–4:1 (SD/ICU) and 5–6:1 (Med-Surg)
• Perform and assist with procedures including IV starts, central venous line (CVL) and arterial line management, Foley catheter insertion, EKG monitoring, and wound care
• Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, lift equipment, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Document patient care accurately using the Cerner EMR system
• Participate in weekend rotation (3 Mondays and Fridays per 6-week schedule) and holidays per staffing matrix; float to TCU as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS certification required prior to start
• ACLS certification required prior to end of orientation
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment caring for all levels of acuity

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ICU or Stepdown/PCU experience strongly preferred; candidates with this background will be given first consideration
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
