Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Evanston, IL | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 36 hours per week | Night shift or Rotating Day/Night | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an intensive care unit setting with a 1:2 patient ratio, occasionally 1:3
- Specialize in neurological and stroke patient populations within the ICU
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using EPIC electronic health records
- Float to other units and potentially other facilities as needed
- Participate in orientation on Mondays and adhere to credentialing deadlines prior to start
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois (IL) Registered Nurse License (verification required)
- BLS certification (current)
- ACLS certification (current)
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum 2 years of strong ICU experience, specifically in Neuro and Stroke
- Proficiency with EPIC charting
- Must submit a passed EKG test with a score of 80% or higher at time of submission
- Must be flexible to float to other units and potentially other facilities in the surrounding area
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with neurological and stroke patient care in a high-acuity ICU environment
- Familiarity with rotating shift schedules in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Experience floating across multiple units or facilities
