Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | On-Call (PRN Low Census)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with standard nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing absences
- Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry, insulin administration, and rapid response intervention
- Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic electronic health records
- Participate in on-call coverage on a PRN basis during low census periods
- Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs, including like units as required
- Be prepared to participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June through November)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or a valid Compact RN license — must be in hand prior to start date
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated skills in Medical/Surgical nursing, telemetry, insulin management, and rapid response
- Experience with Epic electronic health records
- Ability to work every other weekend as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- ACLS and/or NIHSS certification
- Experience in MS/Telemetry combined unit settings
