Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | Projected Start: October 12, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Surgical Trauma ICU at a Magnet-recognized, ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio
- Perform and assist with advanced procedures including intubation, extubation, chest tube placement, central line placement, A-line placement, bronchoscopy, proning, TPA administration, CRRT/HD, and trach placement
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment including EVDs, Camino/bolts, GE Carescape bedside monitors, GE ventilators, Prisma Max CRRT, Zoll, and Baxter IV pumps
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner PowerChart
- Adhere to a 6-week scheduling cycle with expected 6 weekend shifts per contract period; travelers may float to other ICUs (MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU) or Step Down as needed
- Demonstrate kindness, compassion, and flexibility as a collaborative team member within the unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid, active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience (LTAC experience not considered)
- Trauma ICU experience at a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
- Surgical ICU experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CRRT, EVD management, and hypertonic medication administration
- Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart documentation system
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to modified self-scheduling environments
- Positive attitude, team-player mentality, and flexibility in dynamic ICU settings
