Travel RN – Cardiac Telemetry (Night Shift)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips continuously throughout the shift
• Administer and titrate IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Perform and assist with unit procedures including IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker management, and Foley insertions
• Provide post cardiac procedural care for patients following ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Document patient care using Meditech and communicate with the care team using Imobile; participate in bedside shift report and uphold patient experience standards

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post cardiac procedural care (ablations, cardiac catheterizations, open heart surgery, pacemaker placements)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period and float to areas of demonstrated competency

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Experience with equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, temporary pacemakers, wound vacs, bladder scanners, and telemetry monitors
• Prior travel nursing experience in a fast-paced cardiac environment
