Registered Nurse – Oncology (Acute Leukemia & Hematology)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with newly diagnosed acute leukemia and hematologic conditions
- Administer blood products, IV antibiotics, electrolytes, and chemotherapy in accordance with unit protocols
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac dysrhythmias, utilizing Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws
- Implement and maintain infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of overall nursing experience required
- Medical/surgical oncology experience required, with at least one inpatient hematology oncology position in work history
- Valid RN license (compact or state-specific) required at time of submission; must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification required
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, and feeding tube care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
