Registered Nurse – Oncology (Acute Leukemia & Hematology)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with newly diagnosed acute leukemia and hematologic conditions
• Administer blood products, IV antibiotics, electrolytes, and chemotherapy in accordance with unit protocols
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac dysrhythmias, utilizing Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws
• Implement and maintain infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of overall nursing experience required
• Medical/surgical oncology experience required, with at least one inpatient hematology oncology position in work history
• Valid RN license (compact or state-specific) required at time of submission; must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS Chemotherapy Certification required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, and feeding tube care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
