Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Step Down Unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, and insulin drips
• Manage patients requiring trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float to lower-acuity floors within service line as needed to meet facility demands
• Fulfill weekend requirements, which may include Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday rotations every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or compact license required; compact must match permanent residence)
• Minimum 2 years of Step Down or comparable experience
• Must have been practicing at the bedside within the last 6 months
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• First-time travel nurses are not eligible for this position
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with vasopressor management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with ventilator management and tracheostomy care
• Prior travel nursing experience in an acute care or step down setting
