Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 Hours/Week | 13–26 Week Assignments
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, cardiomyopathy, and various vascular conditions
- Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Manage and titrate cardiac drips; perform sheath management and sheath removal
- Care for post-procedure patients including post-cardiac cath, post-DCCV, post-electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment including arterial lines, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, and Doppler
- Manage non-invasive airway support including external CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula, and chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac); document using Epic and communicate using SBAR
Required Qualifications
- Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required
- Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Local candidates are welcome; candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at an adjusted rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Arterial line management experience
- Wound care and wound vac experience
- Charge nurse experience
