Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 Hours/Week | 13–26 Week Assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, cardiomyopathy, and various vascular conditions
• Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips; perform sheath management and sheath removal
• Care for post-procedure patients including post-cardiac cath, post-DCCV, post-electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including arterial lines, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, and Doppler
• Manage non-invasive airway support including external CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula, and chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac); document using Epic and communicate using SBAR

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required
• Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at an adjusted rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Arterial line management experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Charge nurse experience
