Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Palliative Care)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a palliative care unit focused on symptom management for patients with serious illness, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
• Support patients in achieving improved quality of life while still undergoing active treatment
• Float to other med/surg units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed based on departmental staffing priorities
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver comprehensive palliative and medical-surgical nursing care

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• BLS certification required
• EPIC experience required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references)
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Background in medical-surgical nursing with interest in expanding palliative care skills
• Comfort working in high-acuity environments and adapting to varied unit assignments
