Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly, including minor complaints through critically ill presentations
• Manage and titrate a wide variety of drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms; interpret monitor strips using Philips monitoring equipment
• Draw and collect laboratory specimens as required; collaborate with ED techs and phlebotomy as appropriate
• Work within a structured team environment including charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and a 24/7 house supervisor
• Adhere to all facility policies including drug-free campus requirements and scheduling expectations including every-other-weekend rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and either ENPC or PALS, and either TNCC or TNS
• Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration
• Ability to recognize and act on life-threatening cardiac rhythms
• Must comply with drug-free campus policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local rate adjustment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• At least one prior travel assignment
• SANE RN experience
• Experience working in a teaching hospital with residents
