Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period | Projected Start: December 14, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 49-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Perform unit procedures including IV placement, foley catheters, external urinary catheters, wound care, post-operative care, trach care, NG tubes, and feeding tubes
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Conduct bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and engage patients using AIDET communication standards
- Operate unit equipment including Welch Allyn/Dynamap vital signs machines, bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, and wound vacs
- Float per facility policy as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Missouri RN License
- BLS Certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts with weekend rotation requirements
- Compliance with facility dress code: navy blue scrub top, navy or black scrub pants; undershirts and scrub jackets must be navy, white, or black (no sweatshirts or track jackets)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
- Experience with trach care, wound vacs, and post-operative patient management
- Familiarity with AIDET patient communication framework and patient experience initiatives
