Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting for adult and geriatric populations
- Manage patients with complex diagnoses including oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, sepsis, pulmonary hypertension, and autoimmune disorders
- Operate and monitor mechanical ventilation and perform arterial pressure monitoring
- Assist with and manage special procedures including CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter placement, chest tubes, central venous catheters, and plasmapheresis
- Administer chemotherapy and complex medication regimens, including participation in clinical trials
- Document all patient care using EPIC (required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/MICU experience; first-time travelers are not eligible
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Proficiency with mechanical ventilators and IV starts
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Locals are accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with bronchoscopy or endoscopy patient care support
- Background in caring for oncology patients or those undergoing oncologic treatment
- Familiarity with plasmapheresis and clinical trial protocols
