Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Surgical Oncology)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30 | 16 Weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity surgical oncology unit serving both PCU and Med-Surg patients, with a patient population that includes adults and geriatrics
• Manage patients with diagnoses including surgical oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), hepatobiliary cancers, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics cases
• Administer and monitor specialized treatments including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Float within scope of practice as needed; shift assignments (days, nights, or rotating) are determined by departmental staffing needs on a 4-week scheduling cycle

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Locals are accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Prior experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Familiarity with oncologic emergency management and cytokine release syndrome protocols
