Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Oncology Focus)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with oncology diagnoses, including endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers, addressing both physical and emotional well-being
• Administer chemotherapy treatments and monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Participate in clinical trials and assist with data collection and documentation
• Perform specialized procedures including brachytherapy, neobladder care, feeding tube management, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance
• Monitor telemetry readings, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition; collaborate with rapid response teams as needed
• Implement infection prevention protocols, manage patient falls prevention, and accurately document care using EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — valid compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg/Telemetry nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency in telemetry nursing, including the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventions
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in oncology-specific procedures such as chemotherapy administration and brachytherapy
• Certification through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) in chemotherapy
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a complex acute care environment
