Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Friday) | On-Call Required (4–6 call shifts per 4-week period; holiday call may be required)
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate general surgery cases including Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, MIS (DaVinci), Plastics, Endocrine, Pancreatic/Biliary, and Bariatrics
- Scrub general OR cases across the same surgical specialties: Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic/Biliary, MIS (DaVinci), Plastics, Endocrine, and Bariatrics
- Participate in on-call rotations as required, including potential holiday call coverage
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Wear a radiation badge at all times as required by facility policy (badge provided by agency)
- May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
Required Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or multi-state RN license must be in hand at start of contract
- BLS and ACLS certifications required – must be American Heart Association (AHA) issued
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience required
- First-time travelers accepted only with 5 or more years of OR experience
- Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or teaching hospital environment
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
- Demonstrated ability to both circulate and scrub across multiple surgical specialties
