Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Neuro Med/Surg)

Contract | Travel | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Perform bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in their plan of care
• Operate and manage unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
• Provide skilled care including IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Document accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Participate in unit float rotation as applicable per contract labor policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Med/Surg background with experience in a PCU or stepdown setting
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Experience with neurological or post-surgical patient populations
• Comfort with iMobile communication technology or similar platforms
