Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care across a broad OR caseload including general surgery, neurosurgery, spine, orthopedics, robotic-assisted procedures, and vascular surgery at a Level III Trauma Center
- Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
- Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- PALS certification required (American Heart Association only)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in a trauma center or high-acuity surgical environment
- Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgical platforms and multi-specialty OR settings
