Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity step-down/progressive care unit with a 3:1 patient ratio
• Operate and monitor bedside equipment including cardiac monitors, Alaris IV pumps, heated high-flow O2, BiPap, chest tubes, tracheostomy setups, and feeding pumps
• Complete physical assessments, intake and output documentation every 4 hours, and perform hourly safety rounds
• Conduct bedside handoff at every shift change and assist with every-two-hour positioning and ADLs as indicated
• Respond to rapid response calls, ED admissions, and ICU transfers in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
• Float as needed to cardiac surgery IMC, med-tele, med-surg, and ortho-neuro units; work every other weekend (approximately 4 weekend shifts per month)

Required Qualifications

• Active, permanent Alaska RN license required at time of submission — temporary licenses are not accepted
• AK RN fingerprinting must be completed during onboarding prior to beginning work
• Minimum 1 year of step-down ICU / IMC / PCU experience
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry / cardiac monitoring experience
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIH-SS) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for tracheostomy patients requiring continuous BiPap or long-term ventilator support
• Experience managing titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, nitroglycerin, Cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Experience with CIWA assessments and alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment protocols
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
