Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 12-hour rotating shifts, days and nights | Every other weekend rotation | 2 holidays required if working through the winter holiday period | Expected 72 hours biweekly
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting, with the expectation to float between ICU and IMCU as needed
- Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced cardiac support devices, including IABP and Impella
- Care for post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients in a high-acuity environment
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact eligibility
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an ICU or similar high-acuity setting
- CT surgery experience and hands-on experience with IABP and Impella devices required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating between ICU and intermediate care (IMCU) units
- Familiarity with complex cardiac patient populations and post-surgical recovery protocols
