Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry readings, and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility standards
- Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including credentialing timelines and state-mandated processes such as Ohio fingerprinting
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Minimum of 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (e.g., supervisor); Charge RN acceptable as second reference — no coworker references accepted
- Candidates must be available to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance will be required to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
- Former employees of the hiring facility must have been separated for at least 6 months to be eligible; current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible for a travel assignment
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Experience working in a high-volume or academic medical environment
