Registered Nurse – Oncology (Hematology & Leukemia Clinic)

Contract | Days | 5x8-hour shifts | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric oncology patients within a hematology and leukemia clinic setting
• Manage and care for patients with diagnoses including CLL, CML, AML, ALL, MDS, aplastic anemia, hemoglobinopathies, myeloproliferative disease, and thrombotic disorders
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using EPIC (required)
• Float to other units or areas as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Monitor daily patient census, which typically ranges from 50–75 patients

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Oncology RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Locals are accepted for this position
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible; former employees must have been separated for at least 6 months prior to assignment start
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred
• Experience working with hematologic malignancies and complex oncology patient populations
