Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Surgical Oncology)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity Surgical Oncology PCU/Med-Surg unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including surgical oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), hepatobiliary cancers, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics cases
• Administer and monitor specialized treatments including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on department staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Former employees of the hiring facility must have been separated for at least 6 months to be eligible; current employees of any affiliated Ohio location are not eligible
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Prior experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Experience caring for surgical oncology or hepatobiliary patient populations
• Familiarity with cytokine release syndrome management and oncologic emergency response
