Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Surgical Oncology)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity Surgical Oncology PCU/Med-Surg unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including surgical oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), hepatobiliary cancers, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics cases
- Administer and monitor specialized treatments including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
- Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on department staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Former employees of the hiring facility must have been separated for at least 6 months to be eligible; current employees of any affiliated Ohio location are not eligible
- Locals are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Prior experience with EPIC electronic health records
- Experience caring for surgical oncology or hepatobiliary patient populations
- Familiarity with cytokine release syndrome management and oncologic emergency response
