Travel RN – Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week (12-hour shifts) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and manage both adult and pediatric emergency patients in a collaborative, patient-centered manner
• Perform and assist with advanced ED procedures including laceration repairs, closed reductions, intubations, lumbar punctures, incision and drainage, and splinting
• Provide clearly defined discharge instructions and guide patients efficiently through their ED visit with quality and safety as priorities
• Utilize AIDET communication framework, communication boards, and rounding practices to support a positive patient experience
• Document patient care accurately using the MEDITECH electronic documentation system
• Demonstrate emergency nurse competencies and maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Kentucky or a compact state
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Demonstrated emergency nurse competencies including adult and pediatric patient management
• Proficiency or ability to quickly adapt to MEDITECH documentation system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with GE patient monitoring equipment
• Familiarity with high-volume emergency department environments
• Experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams including paramedics, unit clerks, monitor techs, and advanced care techs
