Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Rotating shifts including every other weekend and holidays; 8- and 12-hour shifts available. Weekend and straight night status will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapy assessments and protocol-driven care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders across NICU, PICU, and adult populations
- Manage ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapy, including high-frequency ventilation (Jet & HFOV), nitric oxide administration, and care for micro-preemies in a Level 4 NICU
- Conduct arterial punctures and blood gas analysis, medication delivery, and airway clearance procedures
- Assist with intubations, extubations, tracheostomy changes, decannulation, and high-risk deliveries
- Participate in emergency response teams, ICU rounds, and intra-hospital patient transport
- Utilize a broad range of respiratory equipment including Hamilton G5 & C1, Bunnell HFJV, 3100 A & B HFOV, Infant Flow SiPAP, Bubble CPAP, Aerogen, and Epic documentation systems
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapist experience, with specialization in NICU and/or PICU
- RRT (NBRC) required; CRT will be considered
- BLS (AHA) required
- NRP (AHA) required
- PALS (AHA) required
- North Dakota state license (NDSBRC) required or willingness to apply within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Level 4 NICU experience including high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, high-risk deliveries, and care for gestational ages 22 weeks and above
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may be subject to a local rate adjustment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification
- Combined NICU and PICU experience; adult general floor experience is also beneficial
- Familiarity with home ventilators (Trilogy, Astral, Vivo) and POC devices such as Radiometer ABL90 Flex and EPOC
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt quickly to changes in patient condition in a fast-paced environment
