Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Oncology)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Oncology unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, including continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration
• Manage patients receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management for soft tissue malignancies and disease-related progression
• Perform and manage specialized clinical skills including accessing ports, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV starts
• Assist with chest tube insertion and removal; manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Interpret dysrhythmias using the GE B450 telemetry monitoring system
• Maintain a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention; float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BCLS certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference; no coworker references)
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, bladder scanners, and GE telemetry systems
