Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Oncology unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, including continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration
- Manage patients receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management for soft tissue malignancies and disease-related progression
- Perform and manage specialized clinical skills including accessing ports, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV starts
- Assist with chest tube insertion and removal; manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Interpret dysrhythmias using the GE B450 telemetry monitoring system
- Maintain a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention; float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active, valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BCLS certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference; no coworker references)
- Locals are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Familiarity with Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, bladder scanners, and GE telemetry systems
