Contract | Nights (3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | 13–20 week assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a neurology-focused medical-surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and monitor patients with general medicine and neurological diagnoses
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
• Adhere to weekend requirements, with an expected 5–6 weekend shifts per contract (approximately every other weekend)
• Float to other units as needed; travelers are expected to float first
• May be required to participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team response during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Must be open to floating within and near the facility per assignment needs
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during the first week of assignment
• Local candidates are welcome; note that a local rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification or familiarity preferred
• Prior neurology nursing experience preferred
• Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
