Contract | Days / Nights Rotating | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00–19:30 (Days) / 19:00–7:30 (Nights)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity PCU and Medical Surgical Telemetry unit serving medical oncology patients with a variety of diagnoses, including solid tumors and blood cancers
- Monitor and manage a high-acuity patient population using GE B450 telemetry systems, Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and continuous bladder irrigation equipment
- Adhere to strict infection prevention protocols and implement patient fall prevention measures
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity level as required by department needs
- Maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification throughout the assignment
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including optional chemotherapy training (2-day chemo course available if interested)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required
- Valid RN compact or state license must be in hand at time of submission
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity (charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted)
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred, though not required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Familiarity with PCU-level care and telemetry monitoring
- Chemotherapy competence is a plus, but not required for this unit
