Travel RN – Trauma / Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Weekends Required

Key Responsibilities

• Function as a Trauma Nurse Lead in the emergency room environment during the initial primary and secondary survey period within a 2-bay trauma unit
• Operate specialized equipment including Level 1 rapid infuser, HOT LINE, EKG, GE CareScape ultrasound, Hamilton ventilator, CAT tourniquet, and Alaris IV pumps
• Perform and assist with procedures including IV placement, spinal stabilization, splinting, chest tube assistance, traction, and central/arterial line placement
• Administer mass transfusion protocols using the Level 1 rapid infuser and provide OR assistance when needed
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
• Work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced trauma environment requiring rapid critical thinking

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of ED/Trauma nursing experience
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – current and required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Strong IV access background and proficiency with mass transfusion protocols
• Ability to work nights and weekends as scheduled

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification preferred
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR documentation
• Experience assisting with emergency bedside procedures in a high-acuity trauma setting
