Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown/PCU unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, cardiomyopathy, and vascular conditions
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and oversee post-procedural care including post-cath, post-DCCV, post-electrophysiology, and pacemaker placements
• Perform and assist with sheath management and sheath removal; manage cardiac drips including titration as indicated
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including arterial lines, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, and Doppler
• Provide non-invasive airway management including external CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula, and related interventions
• Document using EPIC, administer medications via Pyxis, and communicate using SBAR; must pass EKG testing prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required
• Travel nursing experience required unless the candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac-specific experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are welcome; a lower rate applies for local candidates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Arterial line management experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Prior charge nurse experience
